Baby#2 has been really fussy lately -- he doesn't nap long during the day, demands to be carried all day long and wakes up every hour at night. I am not exaggerating, believe me. I haven't been getting enough sleep (or rest, for that matter) so if you see me with a pair of big round panda eyes, don't ask why. I probably won't have the energy to answer your question, anyway.
Baby#2 is a really difficult baby and sooooo different from his big brother (when he was a baby). MyToddler aka Baby#1 was a happy baby and was really easy to look after -- tak pernah kembung perut, tak pernah colic, tak pernah cranky when he was teething, tak pernah nangis on flight, etc. MyToddler was a really happy baby! Baby#2 however, is a different story altogether. He gets gassy easily, is a cry baby, wants to be carried and entertained ALL the time, dengan colic lagi, dengan facial rash tak hilang2, etc. And he gets worst lately -- he cries all day long that he almost lost his voice now. My parents told me that I was a cry baby myself and that my "tag line" is always 'buka mata, buka mulut'. Maybe this is payback for me for putting my parents through hell .. ha ha. Now I know exactly what my parents went through with me. Sometimes, when it's my husband's turn to look after Baby#2, he'd tease me by saying things like 'mommy dulu buka mata buka mulut. Baby ni tutup mata pun buka mulut. Salah tu sayang ..'. Hmmpph!
Anyway, I suspect that Baby#2 is teething as the only time he stops crying is when I let him chew my finger (and no he doesn't want the teething ring .. mengada kan), and he'd really chew my finger! Kalau lah betul dia nak tumbuh gigi, please oh please lah gigi keluar cepat as mommy dah tak larat nak melayan karenah Baby#2 yang fussy nie. MyToddler was never this fussy when he was teething .. dia relax aje; no demam, no mengada, tiba2 tengok gigi dah keluar.
A lot of people say, budak kalau masa kecik senang jaga besar nanti susah nak jaga and vice versa. Which is true, based on my experience -- MyToddler was really easy to look after when he was a baby but now that he is a toddler, it takes a village to 'tame' him. The worst is when he was between 1.5 - 2.5 years old -- that terrible 2 stage. He was really difficult to deal with then, OtherHalf and I went berserk and only God knows how difficult it was for us. Those close to us know la how bad his Terribe Twos stage was. It took a lot of patience to raise him but even the most patient person in the world -- my OtherHalf -- lost it once or twice with him. Yes .. he was that difficult, but OtherHalf and I did everything we could to guide him and Alhamdulillah he is getting better everyday as the Terrible Twos stage wear off. Oh how I cannot wait for it to disappear altogether!
